Our Research

Our research has direct relevance to the design and implementation of future treatment and rehabilitation programs for SCI. Defining the involvement of specific molecular pathways in both the impairment and recovery of spinal excitability and locomotion after SCI is critical to identify possible new targets to enhance pharmacological management of SCI and improve locomotor function when combined with rehabilitation programs.

ABOUT The côté Lab experience at Drexel University College of Medicine

For more than 30 years, Drexel University has been running a vibrant and diverse research program focused on understanding sequelae of spinal cord injury (SCI) and investigating strategies for repair and functional recovery.

The College of Medicine has established one of the largest centers for spinal cord research in the mid-Atlantic region, and founded one of the leading centers for malaria study in the nation. Collaborative projects leveraging Drexel University's technological expertise push the frontiers of nanomedicine and neuroengineering.

The College of Medicine's main campus, Queen Lane, is in a suburban-like setting in the East Falls section of Philadelphia.

Innovative. Inclusive. Collaborative. Dedicated.
